Highley Parish is the tier of local Government immediately below the level of the principal authority (Shropshire Council) and are the tier most accessible to the people. Its aim is to represent the parishioners of Highley, to protect the character and environment of the village and to support initiatives that improve the area in which we all live.
Highley Parish Council comprises of 15 Parish Councillors who are elected every four years, the next elections due in 2025. The day to day management of the Council is carried out by the Parish Clerk who works closely with the Council to carry out the decisions made by the Parish Council and its Committees.
Highley Parish Council meetings are held every first Tuesday of each month, except August, unless otherwise advertised and are held at the Severn Centre Highley. The meetings start at 7.00pm. The first 15 minutes of each meeting are set aside for Parishioners to address the Parish Council with any issues that may be of concern. All Parishioners are welcome to attend any Parish Council meetings.
